Story
Like many American stories, ours starts with an immigrant grandmother—Julienne, or “Juju” as Chef Jason Pringle calls her—a French girl born in Morocco who married a US Naval officer and made her way to America. Chef Jason’s love of fine food began at Juju’s knee.
At Juju’s Healdsburg, Chef Jason brings the romance of southern France and the spice-laced soul of Morocco together at his vibrant Spring Pop Up (with an upcoming permanent location in downtown Healdsburg).
From our beloved mezze trio to lamb tagine with ras el hanout, and classic steak au poivre with frites, the menu marries Parisian bistro comfort and North African warmth.
Prior to Juju’s, Chef Jason led the kitchens of Montage Healdsburg for five years. He spent seven years at San Francisco’s two-Michelin-starred AQUA, eventually becoming the Executive Chef. Jason worked at one-Michelin-starred Café Boulud in New York City before Daniel Boulud tapped him to become the Executive Chef at his flagship Miami restaurant, db Bistro Moderne.
Jason returned to California by way of The Ritz-Carlton, Half Moon Bay, before moving to one-Michelin-starred Selby’s, where he was the opening Chef de Cuisine.
Jason lives in Healdsburg with his wife, four children, and their golden retriever. Juju lives in Albuquerque and recently celebrated her 97th birthday.
